PS- on a completely unrelated note, does ANYONE know where I might find a copy of "Exit" by Lucifer- digital or otherwise? Lucifer was the solo project of Peter Walker who once sang for The Purple Gang- "Exit" was his 2nd album and it's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find as you could only get it by ordering it through Oz magazine all those years ago!!

Bad news...
Unfortunately Woven Wheat Whispers- the legal 'folk' music download site- has closed down due to a decline in sales. The man behind the site Mark Coyle has posted a full explanation for the closure on the WWW blog:

So this means the MP3 versions of The Golden Gonk's "Individual Grace- A Pauper's Supper, or Music to Ignore" and "Hye & Hellow" are now unavailable. Shit!! A sincere "thank you" to the few people who supported me by purchasing the albums and thanks also to Mark Coyle and Ian Southworth for creating the site and running it so well. It was good while it lasted!!
Fear not though as shortly I will be setting up a 'sister' blog to this one for my (very small scale) label 'Shack in the Barley', through which I will be making all my recordings readily available. Watch this space!!
Also look out for a limited sampler CD-R entitled "Still, Dim, Smoked & Starved" featuring exclusive music by several of my projects. This will be free of charge- just send me a message on MySpace or through the SITB blog if you are interested in receiving one.

Welcome to my fantasy world...
HELLO!
Welcome to the official website/blog for The Golden Gonk and all other related musical activities.
For those not in the know, The Golden Gonk is probably best described as a psychedelic act, taking influence from pretty much anything and everything- acid folk, Krautrock, old buildings, tape collage, animals, drone, '60s pop, memories, nature, hard rock, Early music, space, dreams, free jazz, beautiful women...
